They totally screwed up the portrayal of beloved characters of basically of everyone from the show, and just decided to do what they wanted. One big example is Dragon Ball Evolution. Hollywood likes to change around characters at their expense, not caring one bit about source material. A black actress, Zoe, played Gamora, but you know what, they actually made her look the alien character she is supposed to be. Apparently the way she appears in trailer is not even her “true” look, but if that’s case why would they promote her in the way are, which isn’t doing any favors for the show. So if they make the actress, whatever race she may be, look like an orange alien then it doesn’t matter what race they are, at all, but they aren’t even trying or at least promoting her as lovable orange alien that is she supposed to be. She doesn’t disguise the fact she is an orange alien. Starfire is an orange alien plain and simple. We don’t need any more CW alumni as superheroes… Unfortunately, the only other orange person on the planet is currently serving as American president, so Diop will do just fine as Starfire. Diop is an excellent choice for the role and it’s good to see that Geoff Johns and company are giving the chance to upcoming actors and actresses.

She isn’t from this planet and, quite frankly, anyone can play her. We’re going to state this in the simplest terms possible: Starfire is an alien. One moron even mentioned that it’s cultural appropriation. We’re not even going to give the idiots any publicity by listing their names – if you really want to, you can go look at any comment section thread about this casting – but the sheer stupidity actually hurts. The lowest common denominator of society is upset that a black woman is portraying an alien. must be shaking his head at us right now.įurther proving there is no length that the knuckle-dragging racists won’t go to, the latest outrage involves actress Anna Diop being cast as the orange alien Starfire for the live-action Titans series.
